Suggest Treatment For Cystic Hygroma In Infants
My sister delivered a baby with cystic hygroma. It was not identified during her pregnancy. It is in the neck area and 9cm. Now the baby is 20 days old. What is the treatment for this. What are the side effects of this. Can the baby be normal without any deformities in future.

Hi..surgical excision of the hygroma is the best treatment. Medical treatment with instillation of sclerosing agent into the lesion is available but less effective. Also the outcome depends upon the size of mass and its communication with the underlying tissue and its pressure effects.
