Hi My period is 45 days late. My previous period didnt arrive either until I took a pill from my ob/gyn to set it off. prior to that I am usually very very regular eery 21 days. I took prozac for 21 days in January and also I have a lot of stress and several kilos weight gain so i assume it is related. Can you further advise?
Menstrual irregularities in your case, could be due to hormonal imbalance cause by PCOS. PCOS is a endocrinal disorder in which hormonal imbalance will be there due to cyst in ovary, facial hair growth and weight gain maybe there. As it is a lifestyle disease, you have to change your lifestyle, eat high protein diet with lots of vegetables and fruits and exercise regularly. Get your hemoglobin, HbA1c and TSH level. No need to worry about it and take progesterone for withdrawal bleeding.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Richa Agarwal, OBGYN
