Hell,
Constitutional growth delay is the most common cause of short stature and pubertal delay. This term is typically used for children that have retarded linear growth within the first 3 years of life.
You are 22 years old and you have delayed secondary sexual characteristics.
This may contribute to psychological difficulties, warranting treatment for some individuals.
Delayed puberty can be caused by chronic medical problems,
hormonal disorders, disordered eating or excessive exercise, genetic disorders, and certain infections.
(Your doctor will decide if you need to do specific tests to check for a potential cause for delayed puberty.
If you were my patient, I will suggest doing some tests like total and free
Testosterone,
TSH,fT3,fT4, and GH to clarofie if you have any
hormone imbalance that causes your problem.
Anyway, don't worry because Most often, boys simply develop later than their peers but ultimately develop normally.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Elona Xhardo, Endocrinologist
