Suggest Treatment For Depression Due To Speech Disorder

Good evening, my name is Laura Joseph. My daughter is 38 years of age and was recently prescribed a medication named losartan 40mg. Upon taking the medication once, she developed severe speech issues and was hospitalized for more than 3 days. Now she is no longer taking the meds but has been seen by a neurologist and has been referred to a speech therapist. We were told that the side of the brain that handles speech heals itself. We want to know if that is true because my daughter is now depressed because of her inability to speak properly.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Your daughter is not depressed, but is disappointed due to the shock she received due to problem of her speech. She will recover and you should keep her motivated so that the disappointment and frustration don't turn into clinical depression. Talk to her, keep her entertained and busy.
