I got septoplasty 6 days ago, and my septum is still very deviated. It was 100% deviated. Right now I can feel that it still somewhat slants and that the left nostril is claiming the right side again. Is there a reason why it would deviate so quickly into recovery like that? Was my procedure not done correctly? Can splints be put in to slowly realign it, or do I already have to plan for a new surgery?
I have not examined you but there is generally a little bit of deviation still left following septoplasty surgery and generally speaking , this should not be causing any obstruction. If however you still feel there is an obstruction , then it will be better if you meet your doctor, he will examine you and guide you further. There are no splints available to re align the septum, please meet your doctor.
thanks
