Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea While On Metronidazole And Ciprofloxacin
Dear I am suffering from diarrhoea for almost 2 wks I took metronidazole and ciprofloxacin for 3 days but no effect then my physcian put me on IV metronidazole and inj cefoperazone+sulbactum for 3 days I am still having little cramps when eat something but no watery stools needs expert opinion
The antibiotics you have been on are strong. The problem with strong antibiotics is that they alter your gut flora and result in diarrhea. You should increase yogurt consumption and get some probiotic sachets or capsules containing lactobacillus. These would be available at any pharmacy. Additionally, there are some probiotic small bottles called Yakult, that you can get at a grocery store. If diarrhea persists after this, you could take Lomotil.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
