Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have been having diarhea in little bursts. I through up last night on the floor, but haven't thrown up since. I have a 100 degree fever. What do I do? I have to go on a trip tomorrow. How will I be? My stomach has been feeling better and better.
Diarrhea with vomiting associated with 100 degree fever are signs of acute gastroenteritis (possibly viral). It lasts only a few days, explaining why your stomach has been feeling better and better now.
You should not have any problem by tomorrow trip. Take with you : - plain water - oral rehydration salts - tasectan or pepto bismol in case of diarrhea - probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora
When you arrive at your destination, if not feeling better, should go to ER. However, I'm still thinking you won't have any problem as long as are getting better.
Have a nice trip.
