Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Passing Urine

Hi, my husband works offshore so unable to ask himself. He has had trouble urinating for a while. Until now, it would take a while but he managed in the end. Since last night, he has only managed to urinate a very small amount. He feels the urge and has taken plenty of fluid but is only now able to manage a couple of drips. Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Possible urinary tract infection.

Over and above the plenty of liquids he requires.

- Urinary alkalizer as Citro-Soda or cranberry sachet.
- Urinary antibiotic as Levofloxacin or else if no history of drug sensitivity.
- Lab evaluation with or without ultrasound as per the progress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
