Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Swallowing Due To Tonsillitis

Hello, I had tonsillitis 3 weeks ago and it passed after a few days, but now my right tonsil is swollen, it is sore to swallow, the right side of my neck has a lump and is swollen and my right ear is achy. I pressed on my tonsil with a qtip to check for stones and the qtip was covered in blood.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to health care magic,

You seem to have developed an acute peritonsillar abscess, you need to immediately consult your ENTdoctor and start an antibiotic both oral and injectable as soon as possible
After this episode subsides you may want to consider removal of tonsils as a permanent cure and to prevent further such serious episodes. You can get back to me on this

regards

DR Sriram nathan
