Suggest Treatment For Discoid Lupus Erythematosus
Hi, I am an African-American woman, 59 years of age, who has just been diagnosed with discoid lupus. My follow=up with my dermatologist is not until 2/24/2015. My hair is natural w/o any chemicals in it however, I do use cream based products and water to style each day. Will the dampness exacerbate my scalp lesions? Thank you for your help.

Hello, Discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) isnot influenced by dampness or water or cream based formulations.. It is of the common causes of scarring alopecia, if the disease is active or the lesions increasing , i would adv you to visit a dermatologist for evaluation and treatment which includes many options, like tab hydroxychloroquine.
