Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having bloating, lower stomach pain and frequent diarrhea for several months. I have changed my diet to gluten free which has helped some. I have had lab tests to rule out Crohns disease which came back negative. I also had a colonoscopy last week which only found diverticulosis. Dr. said diverticulosis is common for someone over 50. I am 65. Where do I go from here?
Dear, Diverticulosis is simple multiple diverticula ararising from ur colon and they may be of many size. Since they are mostly in multiple numbers and may vary in sizes . Surgeon may remove large diverticula if possible but not the small ones So in ur situation u need to take medical treatment for ur medical conditions and let tge surgeon to decide about the surgery. Thanks Hope my advice will be helpful to u.
