Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm a 27-year old female, 5'6, 135 lbs. I've had lower left abdominal pain for about 2-3 months now. At first I didn't think anything of it, I thought it might have been something I was eating/drinking. I stopped drinking soda which seemed to improve my symptoms for a short time. However, the pain returned and now seems to be slightly worse when I do get it. The pain will suddenly come on and usually goes away within a few hours. My symptoms are cramping and bloating. Both my dad and paternal grandfather have diverticulosis and I'm concerned I might have the same symptoms. Could diverticulosis be the cause, or is this something else?
Well come to HCM HI Thank for asking Your query being appreciated, the given symptoms are not due the diverticulitis but it seems to be colicky abdomen pain and it could be intestinal or renal, possibility or renal stone needs to be ruled out too, it may be due to acid peptic disease, abdomen cavity contains many organs and that might be affected, if it is the chronic pain and not being investigated yet then better to get done the routine test, in many cases with such age it may be functional disorders, hope this information helps.
