My primary physician referred me to a neurologist because for a little less than two years I have been ill. I started with loss of balance, loss of some hearing, sense of smell and taste. Now I have developed ouble vision and blurred vision. The medication that I am on is Simvastatin 80 mg; Levothyroxine 50 MCG: and Pristiq er 50MSG. The Neurologist has done a test involving electrical shock and needle probe. He suspects it may be a tumor on a mucsle around the heart. He has ordered blood drawn but the results won t be ready until next week. He told me what it might possibly be but I cannot remember the name. Can you tell me. Thanks.
The complaints you are pesenting does suggest a brain pathology. There could be a mass in the brain, or a blockade of the concerned artery due to embolism that is resulting in the sensory deficits. The questions remains is wether the pathlogy is primary or secondary. i need to know that if in past have you had an episode of seizure or if there is any history of significant weight loss in recent. Brain is the most common site for secondary deposits of malignancy. An MRI brain is the investigation that can help us to know the cause in brain. A consultation to psychiatrist is advisable here.
