Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough Along With Tightness In Chest
Hi Dr. Rynne I had a bad cheat cold 4 weeks ago with lots of coughing. I think I strained my chest even thinking its costochondritis. I still have a dry cough that comes mad goes but chest is tight with clear phlem. I have had allergies and sports induced asthma in the past. I should not I moved to northern ca right before the cold hit me. This is a new area with a lot of vegetation. Curious what this sounds like. It has caused much anxiety as we ll. I recommend you to get 2 sputum samples tested on consecutive days to rule out tuberculosis. If it is negative then it is like due to allergic bronchitis. You need to take Tablet Cetirizine mg daily for 5 days and diclofenac 100 mg thrice daily for 3 days. Avoid dusty areas as it may worsen your condition. Hope that answers your question.
