Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough

I had stage 3 lung cancer 1 year ago May. I had 33 days of radiation and 2 rounds of chemo consisting of 6 days each round. In November I had the upper lobe of my right lung removed....there was still 10% live cancer at time of surgery. I had 2 more rounds of chemo one in December and one in January. I had a ctscan in July which was clear. I have had a dry cough again for about a month, now have a cold. I went for a chest X-ray Wednesday. Results..I ll defined density. Can you tell me what that could mean? I am waiting to see if my oncologist wants to see me. Thanks, Jenny

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Since you are lung cancer survival , ill defined opacities can be due to
1. Relapse of lung cancer
2. Malignant nodules
3. Infection
4. Fibrosis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. CT thorax
2. Bronchoscopy and BAL (Bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis to rule out above mentioned causes.
Possibility of relapse of cancer is more.
So consult pulmonologist and get done above tests to diagnose your densities.
