Suggest Treatment For Dry Mouth While On Tramadol And Gabapentin
My mother is 83 years old and suffers from neuropathy in her feet. The doctor had prescribed her 200 mg daily of tramadol, 600 mg daily of gabapentin and 650 mg of mapap daily. My father called me and said she was complaining of sore throat extremely dry mouth, dizziness and nausea.... I told my father she probably needs to cut back on some of these....any other advice??
It looks that your mother is suffering from side effects of the medicines that she is taking. You should consult her physician and get her evaluated, and a clinical examination can be done so that her medication doses can be titrated and if needed the drugs can change. For dry mouth and sore throat, she can suck lemon drops and chew sugar-free chewing gums. Sip on water frequently. As she is dizzy, do not let her go out or operate any machinery alone as it can cause accidents. Give her nutritious diet and also let her rest well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
