Hello,
Take care of your hygiene. Take bath regularly with normal clean water and antibacterial soap. Dry yourself apply a herbal moisturizing lotion with water base all over the body before the skin gets dry. You can also apply coconut nut oil or
glycerin mixed with a little water as it is a good moisturizer.
Applying
calamine lotion also works well. Wear loose fitting cotton clothes. Do not share your clothes or toiletries with anyone. Clean the room & bed mattress in order to get rid of bed bugs, insects or anything that is triggering your symptoms. Get all your clothes washed in hot water and savlon or dettol. Stay away from strong pollutants, paints, fumes, animal dander, poison ivy, etc.
If symptoms persist, you can take antihistamines at bedtime to reduce symptoms of allergy. Do not touch or scratch. Applying ointment
hydrocortisone on the affected area will help relieve symptoms of itching. However, the symptoms may be indicative of underlying medical conditions that you may not be aware of. Get yourself examined by a
Dermatologist. Get required tests and investigations done to detect, eczema,
psoriasis, xerosis,
jaundice,
herpes zoster infection, etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
