Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I went through your history and would like to make suggestions for you as follows:
1. First of all, I would like to know what is the frequency of your asthma episodes to make more helpful suggestions. I also would like to know what are the current medications you are taking and how they are effective.
2. However, in general, I would like to suggest you to take montelukast-
levocetirizine (
Montek-LC) in regular basis. I would also suggest you to use
salbutamol inhaler on as-and-when-needed basis for asthma symptoms.
If asthma symptoms are not controlled by above, I would suggest you to use regular asthma controller inhalers.
3. I would also suggest you
allergy testing for common airborne allergens - house dust mites, insect proteins, mold proteins, pollens, and pet dander (if you have a pet). This will help you to identify the substances you may be allergic to and also to know measures to avoid them.
4. Based on allergy testing, an Allergist-Immunologist may prescribe you allergen specific
immunotherapy which works on immune system to gradually improve allergy symptoms. I would like to mention here that most of the medicines except immunotherapy can only "control" asthma symptoms but they do not improve allergy.
5. In general, I would suggest you to avoid exposure to dusts, smokes and air pollution.
5. I congratulate for asking about natural treatment and healthy life style as many allergies-asthma have life-style roots. Natural remedies containing ginger, turmeric, black pepper, basil, etc are known to improve allergy-asthma symptoms.
6. A balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants (i.e., adequate amounts of green leafy vegetables, fruits, sprouts, etc) will also improve your immune system gradually.
7. Regular physical exercise and breathing exercises including Pranayama & Yoga will also help you by improving your immunity and lung capacity in a long run.
8. If
stress is an important factor in your life, regular
meditation and relaxation practices will also help as stress can worsen allergies & asthma.
Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.
Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.
Wish you the best of the health ahead.
Thank you & Regards.
