my mother has been bipolar for 27 years, being on Lithium until 8 years ago and then after heart problems put on Sodium valporate which she was taken off a year and a half ago as suspected Parkinsons or a side effect from valporate. She has had severe bipolar symptons back for over a year and now doctors cannot control again with valporate - she was put back on it last summer, currently on 1200mg (she was on 1500mg prior to this set back) - doctor does not want to increase further - why not? Further complication last summer of a stroke and now dying brain cells and they are now focusing more on possible lewys body
