Suggest Treatment For Ear Bleed

Hello. Last night I was cleaning out my ear with a q-tip when all of sudden a whole bunch blood started coming out. I put some alcohol on a q-tip to clean it but the bleeding continued. When I woke up that whole ear was covered in blood and I couldn't really hear. What should I do?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that while cleaning the ear either you injured the ear canal badly or there might be any small abscess inside the ear canal that got ruptured leading to bleeding..
There is also a possibility that you went too deeper inside the ear and have ruptured the eardrum..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
The physician will clean off the blood accumulated in the ear..
In case if there is only canal injury it will heal on its own..
You can be advised antibiotic ear drops to avoid infection..
In case of eardrum perforation, if the perforation is small antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and decongestant will relieve..
In case of large perforation along with hearing loss surgical correction known as Tympanoplasty can be advised..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
