Suggest Treatment For Eczema On Knees And Elbows In A Child

My son has eczema since he was 1 years of age. He s 12 right now. The past 3 days it looks pretty bad. He never had it as bad as the past few days. It s on the back of his knees and elbows. It s really red and some parts are cracked and have fluid. I have been using a Aveeno eczema creme and aloe Vera body lotions. Is this condition still counts as eczema or is it something else? What do I do?

The description given above does suggest that the child has eczema.Few children do have an inherent tendency to develop eczema which is known as atopic tendency. Dry skin aggregates the same.So as far as possible you need to keep the skin moisturized by applying emolients regularly. You may consult a dermatologist and discuss the use of mild topical steroids like fluticasone over the affected area to reduce the itching.Topical tacrolimus is another treatment options. Regards
