i had a miscarriage around the 14th november and i finally had a scan last week the lady that done the ultrasound said i had thick uterus lining...yet still no sign of my period coming any time soon. what could that possibly mean? shall i visit my doctor ?
Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. Since your endometrial lining is thicker than it should be, excess estrogen production must be suspected. If you did not have a natural period after the miscarriage, you need further evaluation. A proper clinical evaluation, hormone profile and blood counts are needed. Induction of a period can be done if there is marginal endometrial hyperplasia. However, if the thickness exceeds 14 mm., it is better to go for an endometrial biopsy and plan further management. Hope this helps.
