I have been diagnosed with endometriosis since I was 14. ( Almost 10 years now). I had surgery on it when i was 15 just to have it cleaned out and to remove the cysts from my ovaries. I do not take any medications. My period for years was irregular but came consistently about every 2 months. That being said I have not had a period since December 4, 2014. Which would make this 82 days since then.I do not have pain. My breast are INCREDIBLY tender. I took a pregnancy test about two weeks ago and was negative. I have not spotted at all. I am nervous that the endometriosis is back with a vengeance.
Hi, I have gone through your question. Endometriosis is not associated with prolonged menstrual cycle. The prolongation of menstrual cycle be due to hormonal disturbances in the body like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia or polycystic ovarian disease. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist and get properly examined, investigated( including hormonal profile and ultrasound) and treated accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
