There are certainly sexually transmitted infections that can be transmitted to the throat- Gonorrhea and Chlamydia produce symptoms similar to strep throat and Herpes can also cause severe throat inflammation frequently accompanied by a fever. The sore throat and illness from all these diseases is pretty severe though, you would have very painful swallowing and enlarged tonsils and likely a fever. It is unlikely you have any of these conditions if you only have mild tingling in your tongue, but culturing your throat for these diseases would give you a definite answer.
