Suggest Treatment For Epididymitis

I have had the same girlfriend for 3 years now I have only had sexual contact with her over this period of time and the other day I felt a pain in my right testical and went to the er where an ultrasound was performed the docter diagnosed me with epididimities and as I research this I see the most common way to get this is through std but as I sadi before after three years with the same girl would I have noticed a std sooner if I have one?

1.Its one of the possible cause to get epididymitis is STD - but it does not mean its only cause.
2. Epididymitis - Inflammatory condition with multiple aetiology, like any infection or even weather conditions can cause.
3.In this case the treatment include - a course of antibiotics with symptomatic medication.
4.After treatment a followup scan can be requested if symptoms persists - a followup to the treating doctor to examine.
5.If you have any other symptoms other than testicular discomfort - then you can think in terms of std then further evaluation needed - other wise the present treatment will be enough.
