I am suffering from epigastric pain for almost a year now. I take cimetidine but it didn't help, also am having heart burn and even a kind feeling of sore throat in my throat. The burning pain also travels to my back and hence causing back pain. What will be the best remedy for this?

Suggest Treatment For Epigastric Pain
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Epigastric pain may be due to gastritis or peptic ulcer disease or pancreatitis or hepatitis, etc. Probably you may be suffering from gastritis with GERD. Avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet Pantoprazole. If symptoms not improved please consult your Gastroentrologist he will examine and treat you accordingly. Take care.
