Before that i was in coma dued to an asthmatic attacked, my heart beats stopped for a few seconds but luckyly i am still alive..thanks god. The Doctor said that i have a brain-damaged, epilepsy and hypertension. I had fits many times and it hurt my whole body. Sinced i have an epilepsy, i am on a wheelchair, i did my theraphy and did some excercises at home by help of my family. Now, i am bed-ridden patient. I'm under depression. Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,

Epilepsy can present as a sequel of a brain damage, and sometimes treatment is for lifetime. If you are looking forward to get pregnant, please consult a neurologist to adjust your medications. Epilim (sodium valproate) is not recommended for pregnant women. There are different kinds of drugs for epilepsy, you can use Levetiracetam, Lamotrigine, Carbamazepine, Oxcarbazepine, among others depending the kind of seizures you have.

Continue your physical therapy and if you have spasticity in your legs, ask your neurologist for botulinum toxin injection as an option to beat resistance to movement in your lower limbs. For your depression I recommend an antidepressant as escitalopram, sertraline, venlafaxine or fluoxetine, also you can consult with a psychologist or psychiatrist for non-pharmacological therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Arturo Benítez-Serrato
