Suggest Treatment For Esophageal Contractions
My husband is experiencing something that he has had on several occasions called something like "ephesial contractions". I would like to know how to help him as he is quite uncomfortable, feels like he is suffocating if he lies down, is spitting a lot, burping helps but he hasn't been able to get some good burps going.

Dear first we have doubt about contractions. Is it esophageal or stomach contractions??
Dear esophageal contractions seen in
1. GERD
2. Achalasia cardiac
3. Diffuse esophageal spasm
stomach and bowel contractions are seen in
1.IBS
2.out let obstruction
3. Gastritis and gastroentritis
Dear he may need evaluation of the problem but barium swallow or endoscopy.
Please consult your Gastroentrologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
