Suggest Treatment For Excessive Sweating On The Scalp While On Fluoxetine

I have a problem with excessive sweating, primarily from my scalp when I engage in any easy housekeeping chore or try to get a meal on for special occasions. I am short of breath after climbing a flight of 12 steps. I am 84 years old and appear to be in good health except for mild asthma. I have had a hysterectomy many years ago and took Premarin for twenty years. I do have some anxiety and take Fluoxetine for this as well as GERD for which I take Omeprozole.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

SSRI group of medications (Fluoxetine) are well established cause of excessive sweating over scalp and there is good possibility that your sweating is related with use of fluoxetine.

Although it is completely harmless but in case there is excessive discomfort changing anxiety medication is option.
