You are 19 years old male suffering from Type 1 diabetes or IDDM. This diagnosis of diabetes itself result in severe distress in any individual and it takes time to adjust. Secondly diabetes itself increase the risk of depression. Poorly controlled levels of sugar are one of important reasons for depressive symptoms. If you are not able to cope up with these depressive symptoms then you should consult a psychiatrist.
Behaviour therapy along with counselling will help you to come out of these depressive symptoms and irritability. If even with this symptoms persist and cause impairment in functioning then there is need for medicines. SSRIs can help you to come out of these symptoms and can be used safely in diabetes also. Don't be distressed and try to accept the change. Its difficult but with proper life style measures and drug therapy individuals can function normally.
I went through your details. Please understand you and your problems and problems arising out of your life. You have diabetics and you are just 19. From the description it seems more likely that you are disappointed with the happenings in your life. You faced many unforeseen events including your diabetics.
