hello I am a 53 year woman It seems that I just generally don t feel well . I am just exhausted all the and I feel my quality of life is suffering. I am going on Tuesday to have blood work done and I am very anxious and worried that I could have some sort of cancer. Will my doctor be able to dectect cancer from a blood test. What could be the reason I feel so tired all the time thanks please answer
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. There are many causes of lethargy and tiredness like anemia, hypothyroidism, vitamin D deficiency, vitamin B deficiency, or chronic fatigue syndrome. All these can be diagnosed from blood investigations. Malignancy or cancer is not very likely, if you have no other specific symptoms other than tiredness and lethargy.Cancer can be detected by proper examination and and appropriate investigations. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Regards, Dr Deepti Verma
