Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Treatment For Fast And Irregular Heart Beat
I am 31, 6ft 2in and about 220 pounds. I have low blood pressure and a good heart rate. I had my bloods checked and everything seems healthy. However, I sometimes have very fast, irregular heart beats that I feel go up into my throat. Each episode lasts no more than ten seconds and have occurred four times in the last six months. I lift heavy weights but have had only one episode while doing weights. I have an irrational fear of dying in my sleep and death in general. My job is quite stressful and I have had marital issues lately.
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that the common causes of palpitations are anxiety, dehydration, nutritional deficiencies, anaemia, gastritis or underlying heart disease.
Your symptoms look like anxiety so it’s recommended for you to get an anxiolytics on SOS basis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
