Today i woke up having a very fast and strong heart beat. I could even feel the heart beat over my blanket, I was amazed and scared at the same time by the fact how hard and fast my heart was beating. Can you please tell me whats wrong or at least help me!

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to tell you that palpitations or fast heart rate can be because of anxiety, heart disease, emotional stress or other causes.

To exclude any fetal heart rhythm disorder, kindly get an ECG, Echocardiography and Holter test for 24 to 48 hours done and consult a physician for physical evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap
