Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I HAVE EXTREME FATIGUE. I USE A CPAP AT NIGHT BUT KEEP FALLING ASLEEP DURING THE DAY. I WAS PRESCRIBED RITALIN TO HELP KEEP ME AWAKE. iT DOES USUALLY WORK BUT I CAN BE SITTING AT MY DESK AND FEEL MYSELF FALLING FORWARD OR JERKING TO WAKE MYSELF UP.
I am sorry to hear that you have sleep apnea and that you continue to have severe symptoms despite treatment with both CPAP and Ritalin. In this case I recommend that you revisit your doctor and he may need to adjust your CPAP or try a different day time stimulant to keep you awake. I would also recommend if you are over weight to lose weight. You must also exercise daily to increase blood flow and improve cardiac health.
Hope this answers your medical question. Please contact us again with your health care concerns and questions
