Suggest Treatment For Fever And Loose Motion

My mother have detected puss cells in her stool test. From last three days she is suffering from loose motions and fever(which is now in control). What could be the reasons for puss formation. And doc has suggested for stool culture test. What is that.

Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM). I appreciate your concerns regarding your mother. Presence of pus in stool suggest that She has developed acute infectious enteritis for which you require a course of antibiotics like ofloxacin and ornidazole along with some pre and probiotic is required. Stool culture is a test in which stool is kept in some media and at a specific temperature so that bacteria preseent in stool grow and can be identified so that specific antibiotic can be given.
