Suggest Treatment For Fever And Loose Motions

my son has been hving fever 101-102 last 3 days, he actually started with loose motions (i think some food/water poison) and we been constantly giving crocin, ibugesic every 3-4 hours as his temperatures are nver coming down... will this be any issue, should I think of admitting him to hospital ?

Hi

The issue is due to intestine infection with some sort of bacteria or virus.

Till the child is playing well, skin turgor is maintained, urine output is normal, there is no need to admit in hospital.

Primary conditions to be followed are
- maintain hydration with oral rehydration salt
- get prescription of GI specific antibiotic as metronidazole from his pediatrician
- addition of zinc suspension with antibiotic helps great
- home support with fresh yoghurt to provide probiotics to the damaged gut.
