Suggest Treatment For Fever In A Toddler While On Wikoryl Syrup, Augmentin And Combiflam

Hello doctor, my 2.4 yr old boy, weight 11 kg; has fever over 100 degree from last 2 days n after inspection Dr told he has ear inspection. Dr has prescribed 6 ml of wikoryl syrup and 3.5 ml of augestenin syrup. In addition 7ml of combiflam of fever again is over 100 degree. I feel the dosage for all medicine is high. Pls guide

Hi,

In my opinion, all the dosage given appear to be in permissible range for your boy except for the dosage of Combiflam. I think, 7 ml. is a bit on the higher side. It should be some where up to 5 ml with frequency 4-6 hourly, depending on the height of temperature. Also, usually ear infection may take 3-7 days to subside. Therefore, you are advised to wait for a few days more for the fever to come to normal.
