Suggest Treatment For Fever With Urinary Infection

Mother on bed post operative care, surgery of hip/ femur. Urinary infection complaint of her. Fever for last 48 hrs regularly with para cetamol it is controlled to 101 , after drug administered orally. She is hypertensive and diabetic. Age : 67 yrs . Living alone . Took doxy and lactic acid - within 5 minutes vomitted

Understand your concern
As oral treatment is cause vomiting. She should be start on the parental drug therapy to treat the UTI.
First Urine culture and antibiotic sensitivity should be done to confirm the type of bacteria.
Generally doctor will give parentral ceftazidime. Give fluid ans saline for proper hydration. Tablet Paracetamol continue for fever.
Give fruit juice of cranberry, orange and papayaa
Maintain proper pelvic hygiene.
So consult the urologist for proper management of UTI.
Also repeat the culture after 14 days to confirm the clearance of infections
