Suggest Treatment For First Stage Of Alzheimer's

Yes sorry got tied up, My Mom is very alert and active but no longer works and has become a home body! I know she has first stages of Alzheimer's. But wants to be active within the family. I have noticed her decline of going to family events or even getting her ready to shower for a hair cut or nail appt., She has become a home body and that's ok, but we have noticed she is picking at stuff, like a long hair on her chin, a scab on her knee, stuff like that and she is bleed ing because off the results. I am reaching out but I am not the care giver full time, it's my Younger sister. I have picked up some puzzles, cross stich something to keep her hands busy. My sister is ready to apply Baby mittens like when the babes come home form the hospital. She will rip those off! Band-Aids don't work, I'm working from the house tonight so I thought I would reach out! Any Idea's. And I am not the daughter that knows all the medical prescriptions that Mom IS ON, So maybe you cant help! Thanks

hii dear

Alzheimer is progressive kind of dementia

goal of the treatment is to prevent further progression

medicines like donepezil,,mementine,,rivastigmine is very helpful

but choice of medicines depends upon its severity and progression

remember this medicines help in prevention of further progression or damage
but they don't reverse this disorder
in fact no medicines can reverse it

so supportive and symptomatic treatment is necessary

some psychological symptoms also associated with it like agitation, irratibility,, sometimes psychotic behaviour so treatment of all of it require

consult doctors and take proper advise

selection of medicines also depends upon her physical health also
so routine check up and investigation is also needed

family and social support is also must
thank you
take care
