Suggest Treatment For Fistulas In The Throat

I have two fistulas on my throat that I ve had since birth and its always hard to find information about them. They drain a clear fluid and I m curious of what the fluid is. I m 22 years old now and I ve found a little research here and there but not much about them on the throat.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Fistula in throat oozing clear fluid is a very rare condition. I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Consult an ENT Surgeon for endoscopy
- MRI study will help to confirm the diagnosis and to know the extent of the said disease

This will give an idea whether to follow up with conservative management or to go for surgery. Since this is very rare condition you may not find too much on this topic on internet.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
