I recently has the flu along with bronchial spasms. I was given a ProAir inhaler, and prescriptions for a steroid and a Z-pac ( which I have just finished ) but I still have what feels like a band of tightness in my chest and across my back near my shoulder blades. I feel restricted when I inhale, like I can t fully inhale. Any ideas ??? Jim L.
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In my opinion you are still having bronchitis. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Clinical examination of respiratory system. 2. PFT ( pulmonary function test ) PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis. PFT will also tell you about severity of the disease. And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only. So you may need to continue inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug. So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
