Suggest Treatment For Folliculitis On Forearms And Thighs
Hello. I have folliculitis on my forearms and thighs. It is painful, and embarrassing. I do not have the means to be seen by a dermatologist, and have no way to pay for an expensive prescription. What can I use to treat this condition, short of the foregoing? Thank you.
Folliculitis is bacterial infection of the hair follicles. I would suggest that you get a prescription for an oral antibiotic (penicillin or cephalosporin group) from your local care practitioner. My choice would have been eithet amoxycillin 500mg thrice daily for a week OR cefadroxyl 500mg twice daily for a week.
An OTC topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin twice daily would help in addition to the oral antibiotic.
regards
