Suggest Treatment For Fracture In Pelvic Bone And Absence Of Bowel Movements

My mother is in hers 76. She has a mild fracture in her right pelvic bone and having pain killers. She has not passed stool for 9 days but she is not having much problem of this. Her food intake is also very small. Can I give her Cremalax? How much time this medicine needs to show effects?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this difficulty your mother has. The prolonged lying in bed and the pain medications are most likely responsible for this. My advise is that you increase fiber, fruits vegetable and increased water intake. Give the smallest possible dose and increase progressively until she can have a stool at least every other day.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
