The skin on one of my elderly father s toes came off in a thick layer. Now it is weeping serosang. fluid. He recently was dx. with A fib. and put on Warfarin. His feet were damaged in the Korean War where he had frostbite on both feet. Is there anything I can do to help with this?
If the skin has come off, he is at risk for infection. Persons with diabetes or poor circulation can actually lose toes as a result. I recommend evaluation by a Podiatrist, Wound care center, or his PCP at the least.
