Hi, I have had a perforated eardrum for about 6 months due to a fungal infection. It is not healing despite there being no infection present any longer. Could my exercising strenuously at the gum three times a week be stopping it from healing? Thank you.
no....exercising is not preventing it from healing. only traumatic perforation have chances to heal spontaneously. perforation caused by infection does not heal by themselves. if the size of perforation is big and the ear is dry ,better go for surgery. for time being just take the fool. precautions: avoid entry of water in ear no swimming or bathing in ponds avoid cough and cold don't put unnecessary ear drops
