I have a son that is 6 1/2 and I have caught him taking his older sisters underwear and bras and wearing them. At first I though he was wearing them (8 pairs of underwear layered) because he is into hockey and thought he was protecting himself. When I asked him I think he was just wanting to know what they feel like. He asked me not to tell anyone. 3 days later I was tucking him into bed and found 4 pairs of underwear and a bra underneath his pillow. I told him he cannot take things that don t belong to him and that boys don t wear girls clothes and girls I just want to know if I am doing the right thing? Thanks in advance.
Hello, Thank you for your question and welcome to Health Care Magic. I read your query and I understand your concern.
I do not think this is anything to worry about. I think that your son is just going through regular behaviour and curiosity for his age. One of the best things that you can do is to explain things to your son. This explaining will help him better.
It is also unlikely that at 6 and a half years of age he will be able to remember much. If the issue continues to occur for an year, then you might want to talk to a counsellor. All the best.
Hope this helps you. Feel free to clarify further. Dr Vignan
