Suggest Treatment For Glycated Hemoglobin During Pregnancy

Hi, I am 32 week pregnant and came to know that when i conceived my HBA1C was 7. I was put on diet modification and insulin once a day at night. currently my HBA1C is 5 for last 3 months ( i was asked to do this test every month). My doc has been happy with this reading and says that the worst is almost over. However for last 4 days my post meal readings are in the range of 148 - 153. Do note that i had drifted from my normal routine of low carb breakfast, lunch and dinner and scummed to snacking. Are these readings to worry about?

Hi, I have gone through your question. HbA1C of 7 at the time of conception indicates that you are suffering from Diabetes mellitus. You have been started on insulin and control the blood sugars. If the post meals blood sugars are more than 120 mg/ dl, then you need to get it controlled by insulin, which will be started under the prescription of your OBGYN specialist.
The blood sugar levels needs to be controlled as it has adverse effects on the foetus.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
