Suggest Treatment For Gonorrhea
I was recently diagonsed and treated for gonorrhea. I had oral sex about 1 month ago (and nothing sexual sense) and so assumed I contracted it from that person. However when I reached out to let them know to get tested, they insisted they never had it and that they get tested for STDs once a month and their latest result from a few dys ago said they were clean. I made out with someone else a week ago, but my Dr said it s not possible to contract gonorrhea by kissing. However I ve read some articles saying if it s heavy kissing (which it was) then it is possible. Is is possible to contract gonorrhea by heavy kissing? I only want to reach out to this person if it s possible and not a false alarm, to avoid any unwanted drama. Thank you.

It is impossible to contract gonorrhea by kissing. The bacteria is found in the penis discharge and vaginal fluid so it is spread during vaginal, anal, or oral sex with an infected person. Also sharing sex toys may be the reason.
The bacteria can not survive outside the human body so it is not spread by kissing, hugging or sharing towels.
Please note that you should avoid sexual contact when you are being treated for an STD. Try to wait at least 7 days after treatment before having any sexual contact.

Usually the infection is passed from infected genitals to a person's throat, but can be passed also from an infected throat to a person's genital. Infection by kissing, even heavy kissing, is not possible.
Most cases with pharyngeal gonorrhea are asymptomatic and the person you had oral sex with maybe didn't have any symptoms. The proper test for pharyngeal gonorrhea is a swab culture taken from the throat. And again maybe the STD tests they had, didn't include swab culture from the throat.
