I have taken metoprolol tartrate for 8 yrs. I started on it when I was diagnosed with Graves Disease, had my thyroid irradiated, and have been on thyroid replacement hormone since then. Doctors have never taken me off the metoprolol. It s like their thinking was everything is working, so let s just leave it alone. I have noticed profuse sweating and fatigue and today read that these are common side effects of metoprolol. I take one 25mg twice a day. Do I need to taper off or can I just stop taking it?
I would have you taper off it--one tablet a day for two weeks, then one table every other day for a week, and then stop
