I have been off graves disease meds for about a year and a half however although the bloods still come back ok i still get dry gritty eyes and weakness and lots symptoms that like a use to they can worse around period times, i have spells of ok then dry skin and hair etc then swing to the opposite of oliy skin hair and hair thinning and weakness that really gets in tehe way of doing all i need with my 2 children. Could you enlighten me to if i can get any help whens bloods borderline but not bad. very frustrating? And have you ever found others who had sypmtoms worse with periods etc. many thanks louisa
Thyroid disease is as you rightly said is frustrating because the conventional endocrinologists dont do the right tests and then also the right treatment . Just treating on the TSH values alone is not correct. Do TSH , FREE T4 FREE T3 , REVERSE T3 , REVERSE T4 TPO and TG antibody titre before starting any medication . Thyroid ultrasound is also needed. What you have to know is T4 is not the active hormone. T3 is the active hormone T4 needs to be converted to T3
